The User Access Control (UAC) for Windows Vista Interferes with Remote Access.
To access a DVR remotely on a Microsoft Vista machine, you must have full Administrative control, and disable UAC.
Go to the START menu at the lower left corner of your desktop, and type MSCONFIG in the Search/Run text box.
A System Configuration popup will com up. Click on the Tools tab and scroll down untill you find "Disable UAC".
Highlight the "Disable UAC" entry, and press the Launch button.
A black Command window will open briefly, then notify you when it is finished. When the command is done, you can close the window.
Close MSCONFIG. You need to reboot the computer for changes to apply.
